During my first trip to Kyoto, I had the privilege of being introduced to the art of the katana. During training sessions, bamboo mats are cleanly sliced by the blade’s edge, leaving behind beveled cylinders. This beveled cylinder shape became etched in my memory and resurfaced when I began sketching my first lighting fixtures.

The Frozen Katana model plays with the transparency of fibers crystallized by resin. Light diffuses through it, delicately clinging to the glass’s textured surfaces. The base is gilded with gold leaf in an upward gradient that complements the room’s illumination.
