Alice
A Rich Inner World

It takes time to get to know Alice. Behind her reserved nature lies an inner world enriched by reading and reflection. Discreet and wise, she listens at length before sharing her thoughts. With the one she loves, she gradually shares her discoveries; their silences are as meaningful as their conversations.

Léo
Quiet Strength

Behind his gentle nature, Léo holds the calm strength of the lion whose name he bears. Courteous and considerate, he listens patiently and knows how to ease tensions. His presence alone is often enough to inspire trust. He expresses his love through thoughtful, understated gestures and a peaceful relationship in which each partner feels free to be themselves.

The story behind…

In search of an archetype

“Rather than pursuing a new and original form, I wanted to explore the essence of an archetype: the table lamp. But which table? A desk, a bedside table, a console or a side table? I spent weeks sketching and making thin cardboard models to find dimensions and proportions that would feel right in each of these settings.

Although cones, cubes and pyramids initially appealed to me, I kept returning to the purity and universality of the cylinder, echoed in both the base and the shade. The question then became how to balance these two connected volumes. Convention generally gives the base two-thirds of the lamp’s total height, leaving the shade with an almost secondary role. I wanted light—and therefore the shade—to take centre stage. Duo emerged from this exploration: an archetype with reversed—or perhaps corrected—proportions.”

A story of pairings

“With Duo, I wanted to explore the union and dialogue between a lamp base and its shade. Working with harmony and contrast, I brought together materials and finishes through traditional craftsmanship and contemporary techniques: patinated metal leaf, plaster, silk crystal and lacquer. Each has its own style, character—in short, its own personality. I gave these finishes a human identity, choosing masculine first names for the bases and feminine ones for the shades.

These personalities invite interior architects, decorators and design enthusiasts to find the pairing that feels right for their project. For an entrance console, might Victoire × Victor be a better match than Alice × Léo?”
